Since my family have grown I now have to provide for a family of five so it's imperative that I receive value for money, gone are the days of spending £100 a week on my weekly shop for a household of two people, throwing large amounts of out of date food away and then eating out for tea every night.
Shopping now at discount food chains such as Aldi and Lidl gives me value for money, my weekly shop is around £80 per week, where I would in comparison be spending around £120 - £150 a week at the larger supermarket chains for a similar shop.

Batch cooking is a great idea to spread out your food, cooking bigger portions and then saving extra portions for your dinner the next day, saves on buying your lunch.
Freezing your meals is also a great way to stop food waste rather than leaving them in the fridge and throwing them away.

This enables me to run a family budget whilst also having some spare money for a family meal and treating us at the weekend.
